Fernando Torres stood out at the Press conference that the National team can’t allow more snags at the classification phase for the Eurocup 2008. “We can’t make more mistakes; we have to add the next six points, at Bernabeu and at Mallorca. And we are working on it. We can’t make any mistake, because losing or tieing complicates our classification” he said. “Other years we have been in similar situations and we haven’t failed. I hope it happens the same things as those days” he added.

Number ‘9’ of the National Team expects the unconditional support of Bernabeu stands beyond the rivalry among clubs: “I would like to see an overturned stadium with the National Team, independently the club we play with. The contrary would be a shame”. “If we aren’t together we are not going to prove we are a country that wants the victory of the National Team and be all united. It would be the first step in a great stadium like Bernabeu and in a so important match. I hope everything works out and these situations don’t take place” he continued.

About the favourite band that Denmark gives to the Spanish National Team, Torres commented that “Spain has to be favourite and more at Bernabeu Stadium, though a many times that’s not useful. We have to think that Denmark will be a complicated rival. You have to respect and have humility”, he valued. The National team is prepared for both matches. “At this point of the season, all of us are in a good condition for the final straight and not having too much time to work at the National Team, probably the best thing to do and what the coach is trying is to get us into the match, thinking on it from the first minute”, he affirmed. Beyond what we play at the field, finally these matches are matches of team work and heart. It is important to be prepared and sure that the coach is incising on that and we will do it until the day of the match”. He said.

The ‘Kid’ said that Spain had come so needy to this situation because, “nowadays, at football everything is equalized”. “You see it both at the League and at the classification phase. Not even us, but great National Teams are in delicate moments”. “Always the months after of the World Cup are difficult, for the handover you can have, and us especially after a competition that had a good start and a bad final. That hurt us psychologically and those moths were hard at the Belfast match and some others”, Fernando Torres pointed out. “Now is over”. Everybody has a good level at the end of the season when comes the best part. We have to prove that it was an accident, that this group can regain the game level showed at Germany. And that is the aim we want”, the Atletico player remembered.

Regarding to the strong competence inside the National Team, Fernando Torres stood out that “we have a week to try to deserve a place in the team and then the coach has to decide”, he explained. The young footballer considered that competence “profits Spain. In these matches, beyond who plays, the most important thing is to be all of us. The objective is to be at the Eurocup, that’s what we are working for and is where we want to be” He concluded.
