First round of the quarterfinals with a dominating Atlético which had the best chances but couldn't beat a strong PSV which, with the sending off of Pereiro, closed itself up in search of the 0-0.

The match had the Red-and-white colours in the first half, although it did not result in goals, despite three opportunities to score. First it was Vietto who tried to beat the local goalkeeper but full-back Bruma saved it on the goal line on 3 minutes. Shortly after it was Koke who forced Zoet to stop his shot.

On the half- hour mark, Griezmann saw how the goalkeeper guessed his shot in a one-on-one. The Dutch only troubled our goal once but Oblak was steady to clear the drive from Pröpper.

The second half was once again more red and white. The control and domain became greater as the minutes passed by and, especially, since Pereiro was sent off after a foul on Godín. PSV, whose coach had stated in the preview that he wouldn't mind finishing this game with a 0-0, closed up to make it happen. Despite our attempts, the scoreboard did not change and the Vicente Calderón will have the last word, like a year ago against Bayer Leverkusen.
