December 29, 2004, saw the launch of Fernando Torres’ official website. At the time, the striker was playing for his boyhood club Atletico Madrid. Fours years on, and with Torres defended the colours of Liverpool and Spain, the brainchild of Bahia International and the young striker, continues to break records.

The website’s design changed in October 2008, allowing visitors to enjoy a more complete experience; new areas, videos and corners for the fans to explore. The new look and feel of Fernando9torres.com has been a success with users, as has the content which is updated daily in Spanish and English.

The third year of the website saw a sizeable increase in visits from across the globe from supporters who followed the Spaniard’s move from Atletico Madrid to the Barclays Premier League in July 2007. His first season at Liverpool ended with 33 goals, several goalscoring records and the honour of becoming the club’s Player of the Season.

This summer saw Torres shine at Euro 2008. The Spaniard had a hand in his country’s opening goal of the tournament versus Russia, and ended the European Championship hitting the only goal in the final versus Germany.

This year has seen 27 million pages visited by users, with June and July (months which coincided with Euro 2008) on top with 3.5 and 7.5 million hits respectively. In 2008, over 6 gigabytes of content have been downloaded from all four corners of the World; with over half of that figure coming in the last two months, coinciding with the launch of the new design.

Fernando9torres.com is also a site which attracts plenty of interest from visitors as users now spend five times more time enjoying the web’s video and audio content, the more-established areas of the site, and the new offer which arrived in October.

The website continues to be the place for web users around the World who want to find out more about the striker and his progress for club and country. However, the striker’s official site offers plenty more than just the latest news surrounding the Liverpool and Spain number nine; with F9T Talk back becoming a favourite with web users.

Fernando Torres, and the team who work alongside the forward on fernando9torres.com , would like to thank users, fans, collaborators, computer technicians and sponsors for all their help and support, because this site would never have been possible without your contribution.
