Fernando Torres demonstrated against Poland that he is fully fit. His goal in his country’s final warm-up match was the perfect morale boost for a Spain side looking to win their first World Cup. Now in South Africa, the Spaniard will be aiming to help his country go all the way.

Back in England, 17 Premier League managers took part in a survey carried out by league sponsors Barclays to search for which football from the Premiership they think will top the charts in South Africa. And the winner with 47% of the vote was Fernando Torres.

The vote placed the Spain number ‘9’ ahead of England striker Wayne Rooney who collected 41% of the votes. Manchester City and Argentina forward Carlos Tevez was voted into third place with 13%.

In a second vote to predict which player will be the tournament’s MVP, Lionel Messi collected an impressive 83%.

The final question put to the Premier League managers was to find who they believe will win the World Cup. Brazil were voted into first-place with 53% ahead of Spain in second with 24%, and Argentina in third with 12%.
