You could be mistaken for thinking that the Spain team had just arrived in a Spanish town as Fernando Torres and his teammates were greeted by flocks of fans, many wearing the red and yellow colours which conquered the European Championships in 2008. All of the players were received like heroes, though the footballer most in demand from the people of Schurns was Fernando Torres. Now fully recovered from injury, the forward took time out to talk to locals, pose for photographs and to sign autographs.

Schurns was dressed for the occasion in red as the town folk lined the streets to welcome the Spain team. Along with Torres, the rest of the Spain players posed with fans, signed autographs and marveled at the warm welcome from the people of Schurns. The Spanish national anthem was then played to the travelling party before the squad enjoyed a juice at the town’s main hotel.
