Milan needed to pick up three points on Sunday against Udinese and they did exactly that. It was a top performance by coach Filippo Inzaghi’s players in rainy conditions at the San Siro and a second-half brace by Jeremy Menez gave Milan a 2-0 win over Udinese. The first goal came on 64 minutes from the penalty spot and the second just over 10 minutes later after a solo run before cutting in and firing the ball into the back of the net.

So, onwards like this! Milan have restored winning ways after a 42 day drought and the chase for third place continues. Here are some other positives to emerge from Sunday’s match:

100- Sunday’s match against Udinese was Pablo Armero’s 100th appearance in the Italian top flight. Interestingly, it happened to be against his former side.

196- After 196 days, Riccardo Montolivo was back playing for Milan. His last appearance was on the 18th of May 2014 in a win against Sassuolo.

24- The number of players that coach Inzaghi has used in the first 13 matches of Serie A. Club captain Riccardo Montolivo made his first appearance of the season against Udinese on Sunday.

7- The number of goals scored by Jeremy Menez from the first 13 matches of the Serie A season. The Frenchman is now the team’s leading goal-scorer. There is also another very interesting stat: Menez is faultless from the spot having converted 4 from 4 this season. Trés Bien Jeremy!
