Past, present and future of Atlético de Madrid met on center circle of Wanda Metropolitano to make the honorary first kick-off in the new stadium history. Under an impressive atmosphere, José Eulogio Gárate, Fernando Torres and Hugo –a guy from the Red-and-white Academy- took the honor kick-off of the first game ever in their amazing new home.

It was such an emotive moment with the three generations of Red-and-whites players to make an impact in a special moment for the club’s history books.

Fernando is already playing his 11th season for Atlético de Madrid senior team, distributed in two stages - before and after his successful period in England. Torres is the 6th top goalscorer in Atlético’s history and has a special link with the fans as he was one of them before his debut.

Gárate played also eleven seasons at the club scoring 109 goals from 1966 to 1977. He was top Spain’s league goalscorer three times and won three La Liga Titles, one King’s Cup and an Intercontinental Cup.
