Outstanding Atletico crowned Europa League Champion after a 0-3 win over O. Marseille

16-05-2018

Atlético de Madrid convincingly beat Olympique de Marseille at the Stade de Marseille thanks to Antoine Griezmann's brace and Gabi's last-minute strike. But it wasn't an easy task, specially on the early stage of the game. OM showed strong character and had some chances, but Atletico's attacking power is outstanding and Griezmann broke the deadlock after a defensive mistake. After the opener Atlético dominated the contest, while the french side reacted on the final stage with a header to the woodwork. But it was too late after Gabi's last gap goal.

OM started off strongly and had good chances in the first minutes of the match. Germain had the best chance for the visitors, but his shot went wide.

Atlético slowly started getting into the groove of the match and our goal came short after. Gabi took advantage of a silly mistake from the Marseille defense and Antoine Griezmann scored the first of the night.

After the goal, our lads put on the pressure and began dominating the game. Half-time couldn't stop our boys and the start of the second half was all ours. Koke gave a lovely pass to Griezmann and the Frenchamn scored a lovely chip goal to double our lead.

The Spanish lads didn't stop there and kept on creating chances. Finally, the last goal of the match came in the 89th minute. Our captain Gabi sent a great sliced shot into the back of the net to give us a 0-3 win and our third Europa League.
