Fernando Torres and Atlético de Madrid had made a good start of the pre-season after the first win against CD Numancia in the IV Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial trophy (0-2). The players of Simeone played a great match in the town of Soria, which served to start picking up the pace of competition.

Fernando Torres was in charge of scoring the first goal of the pre-season after making the most of a masterful pass from Augusto Fernández on 35 minutes. Just after the second half kicked off, Vietto reached the goal-line and crossed to the middle of the box and forced Regalón’s own goal. The scoreboard would not move any more in the remaining minutes.

The next match will take place in the International Champions Cup (ICC) that will take place on 29th July at 20:00 (local time, 12:00 CET) and we play Tottenham Hotspur at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
