Undefeated, with two wins and a draw to their name. That is the snapshot left by Matchday 3 of the Primera RFEF for Fernando Torres’s Madrid side after defeating Real Murcia 4–0 on Sunday night. Álvaro Santos put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot in the first half (13'). This opening goal set the stage for a strong first half in which Cubo—scoring the first of his two goals—effectively put the match hilldown (45'+11'). Later, in the second half, the number 10 netted the third (52') and Edgar sealed the victory at the Alcalá de Henares Sports Center (59'). These are three crucial points for cementing a spot at the top end of the standings, where the team currently sits in second place.

Fernando Torres praised his players' outstanding performance after the match: “We have to congratulate the players and the fans—who, as always, stood by us—and we are very proud of the work they’ve done. We are very happy with what we saw on the pitch, beyond just the result. We know that in these early matches, while we are still getting to know one another, there are things far more important than the scoreline; however, such a big win against a big opponent like this obviously reinforces the work we are doing.”

The coach spoke very positively about how well the new players have adapted to the squad and the pace of the competition, especially against a strong opponent like Real Murcia: “We know it’s an unusual season—many players have left—but the newcomers all share something in common: the excitement of playing here and wearing this jersey. That makes it very easy for us to convince them that we need to choose a specific path—the one we lay out for them—and they follow our lead.”

"We are seeing that step by step the team is improving, that it is displaying better defensive situations, above all, to control the rival attacks and today we knew that it was a very difficult situation against a great team that was coming forward. We knew that they were also a little tired from that trip they had during the week and we tried to play at a very high pace. The team's first half was excellent and afterwards we showed a lot of punch," Torres added.

Finally, Torres highlighted the high-level Group II of Primera RFEF presents this year: "It was a beautiful year with great teams, teams that not long ago were in much higher categories. And that means that the games are back and forth, that all the teams want to propose football, which allows us very long phases with the ball and very difficult phases without the ball. Very good for the improvement of our players. So now let's enjoy this victory. Get a good rest tomorrow and start preparing for the game on Tuesday."
