Victory in Majadahonda. Atlético de Madrid's reserve team took all three points from matchday 21 after beating AD Alcorcón in the Madrid region Derby. Fernando Torres' team took the lead in the 68th minute thanks to a goal by Niño from the penalty spot. The visitors equalised through Vladys in the 80th minute, but Red-and-whites regained the lead just a minute later with a goal from Diego Bri that thrilled the home faithful. Atletico has won both derbies of the season vs Alcorcón after a previous thrilling comeback at the Santo Domingo pitch (2-3).

Fernando Torres celebrated the first victory of 2025 to climb up to sixth place in the standings: “Happy with the three points. We had been making a great effort and we were not getting the results we deserved, and that was the case today. We had to suffer, as we use to. After a good first half, we got the lead and conceded that goal when we were at our best.”

“We had to suffer. We went through very tough situations during the match, which gives us a very solid base for what is to come,” said the coach.

The next matchday brings a key trip to Ceuta, with a one-point gap between the two teams in the table: “A great rival, a very difficult away game, a field where we have to show a good version to take the three points. Today is time to enjoy our victory at home, tomorrow we will start to prepare for what is to come with the confidence that this victory will give us so that the boys believe that the good is yet to come.”
