A great result was grabbed on Saturday after a good game displayed by Atlético de Madrid B away at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol. The Madrilenians beat Betis Deportivo 0-2, a game resolved in the second half through goals by Niño (52') and Salim (75'). Two strikes to push the red-and-whites to the fourth spot in the Primera RFEF table -play-off position- and to maintain the improvement the reserve team led by Fernando Torres is building up week after week.

The Red-and-white coach showed his satisfaction after grabbing an important win against a strong opposition: “I am very happy with the three points, with the victory, with staying up in the table and above all with the work of the players. They’ve played a great game today. We netted that goal that gave us calm -in the second half. Afterwards, we kept on attacking to ensure the win. The players made a great game plan, and I am happy for them.”

“A big cause of our success was controlling what they are dangerous and very good at, which is inside play, breaking through and second-line plays. We tried to keep the team together and we managed to do that for most of the game, especially in the second half. That gave us the chance to move forward and, above all, to be able to have long periods of possession, something Betis is not used to and which made us feel much more comfortable,” concluded Torres. Atlético now faces the last two games of the year against Sevilla Atlético and Alcoyano.
