The European Champions will be dressed in blue and white for the crunch Group H game against table-topping Chile at the Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, kick-off at 20:30 hours (local time). A victory for Spain is the only guarantee of safe passage into the knock-out stages of the World Cup. A win could even see Vicente Del Bosque’s side finish top of the group, pending Switzerland’s result against Honduras in Bloemfontein. A draw for the Reds could see Spain qualify from Group H, but they would need that the Swiss fail to beat their Central American opponents on Friday night. A defeat could even see Spain through, but they would need that Honduras beat Switzerland and that the Central Americans fail to better Spain’s goal difference. - Group H Table -

Following their opening day defeat, Spain got their World Cup campaign back on track with a 2-0 win against Honduras. Fernando Torres started the contest-playing 70 minutes- and although the striker failed to score, the Liverpool hitman created plenty of danger in what was his 75th cap for Spain.

The Spain number ‘9’ has scored against Chile in the past. Torres started the last meeting between the two teams (Nov 2008) on the bench, but the striker came on and scored, before ending the game wearing the captain’s armband. His goal was a delight as the Spaniard cut inside from the left before cracking a shot past Bravo. Villa scored from the spot and Cazorla added a third as Spain ran-out 3-0 winners.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have won both of the matches by the same 1-0 scoreline. Chile dominated their first game against Honduras, with Jean Beausejour scoring the only goal of the game. The South Americans then went onto win their second game 1-0 with Mark Gonzalez scoring a second-half winner.

The two teams that qualify from Group H will meet one of the top two sides from Group H. Although the Ivory Coast can still qualify, Brazil and Portugal are almost assured of a place in the next round. Brazil currently top the group, but the Samba Kings face second-placed Portugal in the final round of games with top-spot up for grabs.
