Fernando Torres ends his fourth season in England with Chelsea trip to Liverpool. With the Premiership title already decided, the ‘9’ will equal in only four months with the ‘blues’ the best final place he got with Liverpool FC in Premier League: runner-up. Although it’s difficult for a winner club as Chelsea to give up the champion’s crown, they take comfort thinking that they have fought for the title against Manchester United till the very end of the championship, something that at the beginning of January and before Torres’ arrival seemed impossible for a team that was fighting for the fourth place. Everton doesn’t risk anything neither, already at the seventh place and having the European places out of their reach. Things being so, ‘blues’ and ‘toffees’ will fight at Goodison Park next Sunday; kick off at 16:00 GMT with the intention of ‘closing the year’ in the best possible way: with the three points sewn up. - Premier League table -

The Spanish number ‘9’ returns to the Beatles’ town for the first time since his goodbye at the winter transfer window, although this time the visit will be at the opposite side of Stanley Park respect to Anfield’s location. In Goodison Park he will try to close the season extending his 10 goals account at a pitch in which he records good figures, with two goals in two Premier League fixtures. In the first one, at the 08-09 season, Fernando got to score a great double that decided the local derby for the ‘reds’ (0-2). However, in his second visit the last October they ended with the same numbers, although on the contrary, that is, in favor of Everton (2-0).

The second place will go to Stamford Bridge unless there is any hammer involved. The second place is almost guaranteed for Chelsea, given that it would be enough with getting one point. If they lose, it should be by a heavy defeat, at the same time that Manchester City would win by a mile to compensate the general goal-average that prevails in Premier to solve scored ties conflicts. In total the ‘blues’ have a 12 goals lead over the ‘citizens’.

The revenge can be an incentive for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. They have played against Everton three times this season, one in Premier and two in the FA Cup, and all of them ended with the same result. The first visit of the David Moyes’ team to Stamford Bridge ended 1-1 with goals of Drogba and Beckford. Later, the FA Cup drum paired the same rivals off again in the fourth round, drawing both in Liverpool (1-1) and in London (1-1), where the winner was decided on penalties, where the ‘blues’ were defeated by 3-4, giving up the title they got the last season. Then, they couldn’t count with Fernando Torres, due to statutory reasons, given that the rules prevent a player to play in the Cup with two different teams –in this case Liverpool and Chelsea- in the same season.
