Just 42 minutes into Fernando Torres' first start for Milan he did what he does best: scoring goals. Torres made his first start against Empoli, who jumped out to an early 2-0 lead –Tonelli and Pucciarelli-. But Torres ensured that Milan went into the dressing room on a high note with a incredible header.

The Spaniard connected with a cross from the right to score a delightful angled header on 43 minutes. Moments earlier the striker had come close with a right foot effort which was saved by Empoli’s goalkeeper Sepe. It means that the forward’s record now reads 98 minutes played in Serie A and 1 goal scored. Torres was eventually subbed off in the 81st minute as Pazzini replaced the Spaniard up front.

Despite being under heavy pressure and suffering for the first 35 minutes of the match, coach Inzaghi’s players managed to earn a point away to Empoli at the Castellani stadium on Tuesday evening. After going two goals down, Torres cut the gap on 43 minutes to make it 2-1 and it changed the match. In the second-half Milan found the equalizer through Honda left-footed brace and pushed hard in last stages for the winner, giving it their all in what was a hard fought draw with many interesting points to reflect on in addition to that first start marked by a goal for Fernando Torres.

3- The number of goals scored by Keisuke Honda in Serie A this season. With an excellent left foot strike, Honda has now scored more than the number of goals from his 6 months of the 2013/2014 season.

His strike against the Tuscans on Tuesday evening was his third goal away from home with the Milan jersey: the Japanese no. 10 scored last year at the Marassi stadium against Genoa and two this season at Parma and Empoli.

Honda has scored a total of 5 goals between Serie A and the Italian Cup for Milan.

10- The goals scored by the Milan squad in the first 4 Serie A matches. To find the last time the Rossoneri scored more goals you have to go back to the 2002/2003 season. That season the total was 13 and scored in the following manner: Modena-Milan 0-3, Milan-Perugia 3-0, Lazio-Milan 1-1 and Milan-Torino 6-0.

10- The number of matches Milan have now gone unbeaten at the Castellani against Empoli in the first part of the season. The numbers now read: 5 wins and 5 draws against Empoli.
